JOIYA

Usama Joyia (b. 2002) is a Lahore-based painter who holds a BFA in Painting from the National College of Arts. Originally from Hasilpur, he works primarily with oil paints and pastels. His practice explores the urban landscape of Lahore through a formalist lens, focusing on shape, form, and composition. Rooted in photo-walks and intuitive mark-making, his work has evolved toward simplicity, emphasizing the visual dialogue between structure, shadow, and the mundane beauty of overlooked spaces.
